Tutoring is available at the Springhill Lake Recreation Center Clubhouse Saturday mornings from 10-12 and Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-5 pm during the school year.
Greenbelt CARES Tutoring services matches interested youths with community volunteers who assist with academic work and help to motivate the student. Group and one-on-one sessions are available. Each July, students can participate in the fun and educational weekly tutoring camp hosted by CARES.
Greenbelt CARES also offers
- GED prep as well as pre-recorded GED Lessons on Algebra, Science, Social Studies, and Grammar.
- Informational videos on homework, school problems, etc.

The Prince George’s Library system has a variety of resources including Ask a Librarian (240-455-545), Digital on-line videos including Car Repair, Free Legal forms, Transparent Language (Transparent Language is a web-based language learning platform offering over 110 languages.) and Freegal music service.
The Homework Support Suite provides support whether one wants to learn from home or on the go. Through the Learning Express Library one can access practice tests for college entrance, employment, and citizenship as well as tutorials in basic skills for math, reading, and writing.
Recent immigrants can find helpful resources collected under the library link Immigrant Proud. In addition to providing several language aids, the Learning Express section offers guides for becoming a citizen as well as practice tests and information about getting a green card.
The library system also offers online live tutoring (including in Spanish) in any school subject through Brainfuse HelpNow (available 2pm to 11:55 pm EST). Brainfuse HelpNow also offers live assistance for preparing for the citizenship test and filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
